Honestly, how long could he expect to last? Even if all the defections weren't his fault, they happened on his watch.

Big East will probably explode sometime this summer. I just don't think adding small formerly non-BCS teams will save your AQ conference status.

The Big East interim commish and all the non-BCS conference commisioners (minus maybe the MAC which seems pretty stable) really need to schedule a pow-wow and work out a new conference system for those teams before they all end up shooting each other in the foot. Put together somewhere between 4-5 regional football conferences that make sense and are separate from the basketball conferences. Let the non-FB Big East schools have first dibs on any of the schools that want to remain associated with for basketball and then sort out the rest of the basketball conferences as needed.

The non-BCS conferences are really going to make a strong case for being left out of any sort of playoff system if they don't start getting their **** together and letting all this FCS schools jump up and join their conferences.
