Re: USA TODAY Sports' College Athletics Finances
It makes our director's cup ranking all the more impressive.
(sorry if already posted, quick search didn't find anything)

Some interesting items in there. Specifically, Nebraska is part of the Big 10 and Colorado is part of the Big 12.
For NU: " In Big 12 Conference until 2010-11"
For CU: " Moved to the PAC-12 in 2011-12."
NU and CU revenues both jumped $10m the year they moved.

I find it interesting that not only does Texas outspend Ohio State by $11 million, they have 16 fewer varsity sports (20 versus 36) to spend it on.

I did not realize Iowa would be 12th in revenue and expense. What are they spending all that money on?

Using football and basketball wins, I wonder who's getting the most bang for their buck?
(This is a cue for some really bored person to figure it out) thanks :)

(sorry if already posted, quick search didn't find anything) This! Pretty amazing that we rank that high, in how few sports we participate in. Money wisely spent.

Re: USA TODAY Sports' College Athletics Finances
In all honesty I don't get it.
EIU additional sports that ISU does not have are the following
Men's
Baseball
Gymnastics
Swimming & Diving
Tennis
Women's
Field Hockey
Rowing
I understand they probably spend more on Football than we do, but seriously those six sports and additional money on football make up a gap in expenses of $39.5 million. No wonder all of them at HawkNation are scared the B12 won't just survive but thrive. If that happens and ISU can spend $60M a year on sports, the Hawkeyes will be back page news. In all honesty if I was an EIU supporter I would be a little embarrassed.

(sorry if already posted, quick search didn't find anything) Except no one really cares about the Director's Cup. The only two sports that really matter are football and men's basketball.
