Re: Todd Blythe hired as new WR Coach at UNI

Great to hear he's involved in football. UNI is a great place to get some coaching experience.

So you're saying he's trying to work his way up the coaching ladder? Interesting theory......

The Mizzou game in '06 was a fluke, IMO. They hadn't prepared for him as an every down back, and there was just a crazy emotional thing going on with our team that day. We even got a call to go our way (there was obvious holding on the play, just not where it was called).
He had like 80 yards against Colorado the week before as an every down back though too.

He was by far the best full back/running back on the 2006 team. It took DMac 9 games to realize Josh Johnson and Jason Scales were not the answer. Kock did averaged 4.5 yards/carry in 2006 on 75 carries. In 2005 he was fine in his roll behind Hicks.

Talking about this just brings back the horrors of the 2006 season. Jesus that was bad. 2006 Kansas is still the worst performance I've ever seen from ISU in person. 44-3 with 1 minute to go in the game against a 6-6 Kansas team. Pathetic.

He'll fit in just fine with Mark Farley then.

Just my opinion, but I think that adjusting to the ball in mid air is something that you're born with, not something you can teach. Good luck to TB tho.

That pretty much sums up the Danny Mac era. Great games and individual performances. Followed by weeks upon weeks of getting crushed with little effort shown.

Not sure of the year, but my vote for worst ISU performance ever was against Colorado. ISU was down 35-0 right before half time. They lined up to try a 50+ yard field goal. Crowd went nuts. Mac had to call timeout and then went for the Hail Mary. Of course it didn't work. That is the closet I have ever came to tearing up my season tickets and burning all my Cyclone gear... :)
