PSU donations second highest in school history
Penn State Nittany Lions say donations second highest in school history - ESPN
Penn State received more than $208 million in donations for the fiscal year that just ended, the second-highest total in university history despite the upheaval after the arrest of Jerry Sandusky on child sex abuse charges.
and this is why a giant bubble needs to be placed over Happy Valley, PA
edit: afterthought - some of this $ should go to the victims/families not for statues of Joe Paterno

Keep pumping it in there, people. More money for the victims, who can name their price at this point.

That probably reads wrong.

Re: PSU donations second highest in school history
I think this is great, the fans and the kids that play for Penn St did nothing wrong. I love their fans wanting to be part of the healing process for the entire University. All of the involved parties are no longer associated with the Universtiy, no reason not to support the innocent players.

I'd bet 1/2 of that total ends up out the door in civil suits (negotiated settlements).

Its not the alumni, boosters, students or whoever else is donating fault this all happened. those people are not with the university anymore, so why punish them any more?! Hopefully they get back on track.

Re: PSU donations second highest in school history
Not surprising. If all of sudden something came out as horrible as that about something at Iowa State I'm sure you'd see a similar spike. A lot of people who love their University watched a very limited number of people make horrendously bad decisions that will forever associate an otherwise great institution with children being abused.
I think you'd see a huge outpouring of donations to a victims fund or a charitable organization in the names of the victims as well as spike to the support of the university just about anywhere it happened. People don't want to see somewhere they associate with good times and memories destroyed by the acts of a select few.

Re: PSU donations second highest in school history
I would love to say that PSu deserves to burn in hell but that's not right. The current students, athletes, fans, perhaps some administration, and boosters didn't do anything wrong. The whole University should not burn for what a few people did. They did horrible things but I do feel bad for the players still there. This is most certainly a reaction from the fanbase to rally around the program and keep it alive. Also, judging by recruiting they haven't been hurt all that bad there either which is the amazing part to me.
