Exhibit A for why foregoing the death penalty was a mistake. They still haven't figured out that "the school" is not the same as "the football program."

They hired and retained people who made horrible decisions, and the longer they gripe about the sanctions (which pale in significance to the damage done on their campus), the less respect they will have from me.
I write this with the illusion that they are reading my comments or care about my opinion:
Penn State, thank your lucky stars that they didn't shut your program down forever. Now shut up with the complaints, the whining, and the talk of lawsuits or appeals. Thank you.
Look, I would have liked to see Penn St sit out a year or two as well, but you honestly think they wouldn't have appealed a death penalty? They probably would have appealed one year sanctions.

The more I hear about the fans, former players, and the BOT gripe about the sanctions the less I feel sorry for them and realize perhaps it truly is the "communities" fault that this happened. So many people and organizations within that community turned a blind eye to what Sandusky was doing because of PSU football perhaps there really are no "innocents" and the community is getting what they deserve.
