Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
I'll bet Matt Barkley is glad he came back this year so his coach could throw him under the bus. I guess Lane is too self centered to shoulder the blame himself. USC Trojans coach Lane Kiffin puzzled by 'really poor decisions' by Matt Barkley - ESPN Los Angeles -
Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
I have never liked Kiffin. What a tool. With that being said I'm not really sure he said anything he shouldn't have. I guess I didn't see the game so I'm not sure.

Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
We've never understood the love affair people in the football world have with Kiffin. He's an arrogant SOB with no respect for others, nor his own teams, only himself (undeservedly). He hasn't proven he can win much of anything on his own, yet he keeps getting these primo job offers and big contracts. Imagine what he could accomplish if he was actually a decent guy AND a good coach (hint: a lot more than what he's done to this point).
All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots. (maybe) -
Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
I hate Kiffin as much as the next guy, but those quotes weren't that bad. Also, the interceptions were out of character for Barkley.

Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
Uh, what did he say that wasn't completely fair? He stated facts. Those were both horrible decisions and out of character. He didn't say, "Matt Barkley cost us the game." He didn't say anything like that. All he said was that those were bad decisions he hasn't seen Barkley make. That's hardly throwing someone under the bus.

Or so I have read. -
Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
Not seeing the problem here. Sounded like a simple assessment of what happened. He mentioned that Barkley was beat up some by their defense, and felt bad that he would graduate without beating Stanford.
Not sure where he was thrown under a bus in all that.

Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
i had this game on mute while i was watching clones.tv
and Barkley didn't look his best... eye'ing his receivers from the start and the secondary ate him up
he went like 6-24 in the 2nd half

You're welcome.

Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
I guess I thought maybe he would talk a bit of responsibility himself.

Re: Lane Kiffin = Piece of work
Why do you think Kiffin left Tennessee? His ego/arrogance couldn't be in the same conference as chiz as they are both too big.

That's probably why he left.
