SEC hopes turn sour for Mizzou after Big 12 move - College Football News | FOX Sports on MSN

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people. Hopefully Pinkel doesn't kill anyone driving home after drowning his sorrows.

I see Missouri football = Kentucky football in a couple years.
Too bad for Missouri their basketball will not elevate to Kentucky basketball.

Serves 'em right. They beg and beg to get in.....and look what happens.

SEC wanted TAMU...i think they settled for Mizzou to get some more wins for all the other teams and to get an even number.

The mistake Missouri made here is not realizing the negative consequences of being the northernmost SEC team. We know the challenges with that in the Big 12. It has to be even more challenging in the SEC as their footprint is more Southern than the Big 12. It just will not work out long term for the FB program in that league. They are going to be a 3-6 win FB team for the forseeable future.

For me, it's funny that they are doing so badly. I thought they had enough players left to make a good run in the East division this season. Apparently I was wrong-- very wrong.

Not that I'm upset being wrong. I love watching those traitors go down in flames. They are going to be a bad team for awhile, because their Texas pipeline is going to dry up, and it's going to take awhile to build one up in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

So what has happened to Missouri? How can they be so tough in the Big 12 and now be so weak in the SEC? I know the SEC answer: "the SEC is a much better conference." However, I just can't understand how Missouri could flop so far so fast.

Franklin has gone down a few times, their O-line (as discussed in the linked article) is dealing with a lot of injuries and is using a lot of sophomores, freshmen, and true freshmen. In a league with premier d-linemen that spells disaster.

Flying back from Florida, I met a Mizzou alum. I had my ISU hat on and he complimented me on ISU's win at TCU. According to him, no one he knows liked the move. As fans there were too many traditions being lost and he wasn't too confident about Missouri's potential in the SEC. He thought the big money was what drove the move and that Egos and the thought of Big Time Football overtook common sense. He even said he used to go to quite a few games, but basically is giving up now.

Obviously just one mans perspective, but I thought it was an interesting one coming from outside the "Superfan" mentality.

Winner. Their O-Line has been banged up all year leading to their QB getting banged up. A frosh QB with a young O-Line is a disaster in the SEC with NFL quality D-Linemen coming at you constantly.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Even Vanderbilt? I wish we could play Missouri this year!

vandy is significantly better this year than previous years though. But yeah, oh and MU sucks and deserve everything they are getting. And if they go down the toilet, that has to help us with local talent. Maybe then we wont lose a Campos to them again.
I really wish we could land him. We need some quality lineman.

This is what I never understood. I don't know a ton of Missouri fans so my sample size is low. But through work and other relationships I probably know 10 or 15 Missouri fans. None, as in zero, wanted to move to the SEC, and they tell me the same thing, most people didn't want to move. These guys are all like 30-40 years old, genreally fair minded, attend a few games a year and are pretty big fans generally. So what I don't get is, where was the big uprising to move? Seems like a very vocal minority mixed with some bery big dollars. Very odd situation.
