Re: Tulsa already 6-1 and Bowl eligible...
Congratulations to Tulsa...I'm glad the Cyclones gave them their only loss so far
Re: Tulsa already 6-1 and Bowl eligible...
I'm not sure why, but I'm afraid. I think it's their winning connection to storms that has me on edge, but I really can't think straight. So afraid.

Why does this matter? If Tulsa wins CUSA they go to the Liberty Bowl and face the SEC's 8th bowl bound team and will get rolled. They only have one other bowl, Dallas Bowl, against a BCS conference. All of their other bids are against other non-AQ schools. Does it really bother you that Tulsa will play in a bowl game you won't watch? I don't you have even watched them play since we played them.

I think he is probably talking about a 5 win ISU team not getting a bowl game like last year.

I think you're reading me wrong. I dont care if there are a million bowls personally. The more football the better, and i usually take the same 'if you dont like it, don't watch' stance. I'd even let a team with a slightly losing record go (5-7) if there was evidence that they were a top 50-60 team (as there are that many bowl slots) But there are those that want to restrict bowls to those with 7 wins or other such restrictions, which would make it harder for a team that is better (like ISU) to make a bowl game year in and year out simply because they have a more difficult schedule, while teams like Tulsa would be able to skate by to bowls on easy schedules. This results in the "Texas Tech effect" (and hell, most of the SEC) where teams with difficult conference schedules HAVE to water down their noncon schedules, decreasing the quality of football for everyone to watch.
Re: Tulsa already 6-1 and Bowl eligible...
If we're going to look at Tulsa's record to validate our win, we must look at Tulsa's opponent's records to validate its record.
Tulsa's six wins have come against opponents with a combined 9-24 record. It's only impressive win was a 27-26 victory over 4-2 Fresno State.
Validate this win all you want, just don't take Tulsa's record at face value.
