USA Today "Re-Ranking"
NCAA Football: We re-rank 1-124
Quick "un-depth" analysis.
It's less Big 12-heavy than current BCS standings — not surprising, and possibly more accurate in that regard, if you're making projections for the end of the season (I envision SEC is going to be all over the top 10 by season's end, as Big 12 fights itself out of contention).
As a snapshot, meh.
Iowa State 37th. No shocker wins, of course (the gotta-earn-respect argument) but it makes me wonder: How dependable is the rest of the ranking?
FBS opponents include Iowa (39th, win), Tulsa (30th, win!), Tech (loss, 17th), TCU (28th, win!) and KSU (6th, loss).
If it's projecting results over the entire season, no problem with it, considering Iowa State would still have to play OU (11th), WVU (18th), Texas (31st).
I like ISU's chances vs. just about every team from 25-36 — including two teams Iowa State already beat.
Fun part: Iowa State is ahead of three of the four conference defectors: Nebraska, Missouri and Colorado.

Re: USA Today "Re-Ranking"
I don't agree with putting TCU ahead of us but I can see the logic of it. But Tulsa at 30th? Really?

Re: USA Today "Re-Ranking"
Yeah I would say ISU a little closer to 30th, but Iowa and Tulsa being ranked that high is pretty outrageous.
