Suggestions for my authentic, hand signed, throwback Gene Chizik Iowa State helmet
I had planned to eventually retire with the proceeds from my signed Gene Chizik Iowa State throwback football helmet. Not sure the thousands of dollars I was counting on will be there. I'm looking for
suggestions on how to handle this.
1. Keep helmet in case Chizik goes to the pros and becomes the next Vince Lombardi
2. Take goo-be-gone and erase the signature and keep the helmet
3. Turn helmet around on shelf with signature facing wall
4. Take it to Cy's Roost and trade for a pitcher of beer
5. Sell it to an Auburn fan so they can burn it at the stake.
I'd appreciate the help on this.

Lucky for me...I had bid on and won the throwback helmet signed by the Chiz. I was able to remove the signature with cleaner.

Removing the signature will increase the value of the helmet exponentially. Charities will appreciate the gesture of erasing the sig almost more than they would if you donated a regular throwback helmet.

I would keep the helmet. Years down the line when he is long gone, he's going to be the answer to one of those trivia questions during one of the televised games? "Who is the coach with the worst overall record ever to win a National Title?"

I'd suggest a burial at sea, similar to Mr. Bin Laden.

Keep it. It'll be like one of those old phones with the listening thing on the cord and the speaking thing on the wall, it can be a conversation piece where people see it, point and laugh, and say "oh, how quaint, remember when people were willing to pay money for things with his autograph?"

So what you're saying is he could eventually sell it to hipsters.

I'm not sure Cy's would take it. I think they're smart enough to know that it would be destroyed by a ******-off college kid within minutes of them putting it on the wall. I think the only reasonable solution is to wipe it, and try to get the signature of someone that matters.

I'd appreciate the help on this. Serious response here:
Either sell it to the Auburn fan base now, or hang on to it and sell it to the Auburn fan base later on. Some big booster down there will eventually shell out some cash for it. Hell, I'd be interested in buying it.

Hell, I'd be interested in buying it. I would sell it to an Alabama fan. First ISU help them get into the BCS last year, and secondly Chizik has been helping the Tide become the best team in the state during his tenure.
Do you know why I put up with this 'pitiful job', Mr. Donaghy, why I fetch these folks' lunches and clean up their barfs? Cause they make television. And more then jazz, or musical theater, or morbid obesity, television is the true American artform.
