NCAA approves tougher sanctions
But will these tougher sanctions be applied equally across the board no matter the program? We'll see.

Re: NCAA approves tougher sanctions
Given how they put the hammer down on Caltech of all schools with a post season ban in all sports for letting their athletes shop for classes like all the other students (while trying to decide whether to take the likes of quantum mechanics or thermodynamics for the term) and let other notorious cheaters skate, somehow I doubt there will be any equity.

Caltech must not have violated rules covered in the fine print, the fine print inserted to cover violations by select athletic schools. Caltech is a select academically superior school, but not athletically select. That awful reference to student-athlete is so cumbersome when handing out penalties to offending, but preferred, select athletic schools, that get Monopoly free get out of jail passes.

The plan is to split the full committee into smaller panels, all of which could hear cases and allow as many as 10 meetings to take place annually instead of the five that have traditionally been held.

And they'll have different panels depending on how much money you bring in. Kentucky BBall and Alabama football will get the group that feels that the embarrassment of reporting is the only punishment needed.

Dude they're having 10 meetings a year, I mean do you expect them to meet every single month? They have families, bro.

NCAA spokesperson: "The NCAA is very upset with the infractions committed by Auburn University. As such, we are putting Fairfield on three years probation effective immediately."

Haha, although more likely would be something like "NCAA has determined that Auburn committed recruiting violations X years ago when recruiting Cam Newton, as punishment we will make it so the current players who had nothing to do with it can never go to a bowl game. Also we would punish Gene Chizik but he has already left for another school, sorry."

Re: NCAA approves tougher sanctions
The appropriate punishment for Auburn would be that they must sign Chizik to a lifetime contract.
