Mike Leach Has Done It Again !
Leach rips players, but needs to look at himself, too | Bud Withers | The Seattle Times
On Saturday, Utah (4-5) ensured Leach of his first losing season as a head coach with a 49-6 blowout. Afterward, the notoriously oddball coach ripped his players at a postgame press conference, and he targeted his linemen in particular. "A part of it's effort, and some of it borders on cowardice," Leach said of an offensive line that allowed six sacks. "... It was one of the most heartless efforts up front I've ever seen. And our D-line wasn't any better." Then, in what amounts to overt humiliation, Leach ordered all of the Cougars' starting offensive and defensive linemen to come out of the locker room to field media questions (whether the media wanted to talk to them or not).

I love it!!!! Leach calls a spade a spade!

Re: Mike Leach Has Done It Again !
Mike Leach has been pretty much a complete disaster in his first year at Washington St. This team lost to Colorado somehow and has taken a large step back from last year.

Re: Mike Leach Has Done It Again !
Mike Leach doesn't sugarcoat anything he says. I don't think his current players can handle it / can't take the criticism. I would question the head coaches coaching ability, but Mike has proven to me that he is a quality head coach.

He's definitely a different breed of coach...

Read his book. Gives you a good understanding of the man and his ideas. Great read.
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -
Re: Mike Leach Has Done It Again !
I think it may be alright to call out some groups of players if they appear to put in little effort. But he should also blame himself in the same breathe as he had obviously failed them as well. I don't think leach takes any blame.

I'm not a big fan of coaches calling out players.

In any case, going into "wishing upon a star" mode, I'd love to see Leach as OC at ISU...

You can say "we need to improve but instead appear to be regressing" to the media. You can then feel free to call out particular players in the meeting room or on the practice field - unless of course you are Mack Brown since he can't do anything private in practice without it coming out on the LHN. Oh, yeah, no one gets LHN anyway. Nevermind. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. I think this went over your head. Hawk fans should know what I'm talking about. I should have added the
But yes, you are correct.
