Gary Dolphin and the nickname 'Whitey'

I flipped over to the Iowa game to see how they were doing and I heard Dolphin describe Aaron White as Whitey. Anyone else think this is just odd? With the racial undertones of that reference I would think someone would suggest he stop, or is this just me?

He nicknamed Gatens "Gater" and Woodbury "Woody", so I don't think Whitey is anything out of the ordinary.

He really thinks out of the box, doesn't he? Is he a creative writing Professor Emeritus at the Iowa Writer's Workshop?

At least he doesn't call Woodbury "Boner".

And he could call white "Ginger" like a BTN announcer did last year.

    There's only ONE Woody :

There is a difference in the Woodies though. One is long and hasn't quite learned to finish when he gets to the hole, the other has a knack for really pounding it in there and making the opponent sore the next day.

Only if someone is stupid enough to make a simple name into a racist remark. I never would have took it that way
