    Re: Iowa or Nebraska?

Go Big Red. Like the thought of former Big 12 teams leaving this conference and doing well in a another conference, a&m running over Alabama, and Nebraska winning the big ten. Like it as much as I like adding two conference champs to the big 12 and watching them suck in their first year. Welcome to the Big 12 boys!

    Perfect.

I'm no U-M fan, but I'd rather Wolvies get a better position than Nebr-***-ka any day.

And y'know, this is just the type of game Iowa wins. (It's like The Opposite of Iowa-Minnesota/Iowa-Northwestern)

As much as I dislike the hawkeyes, there would be some satisfaction of watching them storm the field after their big victory. They might even tear down their own goal posts. After all, it is their 12th super bowl this year.

    GBR...
Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd

By default, I tend to cheer for the land grant institution of any game involving a land grant, and a liberal arts and sciences university (Auburn being the exception - at least until Chizik is fired).

    Reason 2:
My two brothers are both Hawkeye fans (one is even an ISU alumnus). I don't want them to be allowed any Hawkeye bragging rights whatsoever for even the slightest thing, Nebraska game included.

Not sure the ISU grad/Iowa fan should still enjoy the privilege of being called your brother.

Living in Western Iowa with the Skers is like living in Eastern Iowa with the Hoks... As an Eastern Iowa native, I will root against Iowa all day long. Unfortunately, Hok fans will see an upset over Nebraska as this season being a fluke and they are still awesome. 4-8 Iowa is funny, don't care about Nebraska. I do think that Nebraska has a better shot at beating Wisconsin then Michigan does... Wisconsin winning the Big 10 this year is a crime, but would be symbolic of the joke that conference has become.

They aren't any different than any other Big 10 or SEC team. I like to see them get beat, but don't really think twice about them anymore.
I'm with you on this one. I HATED Nebraska growing up in NW Ia. Now that I'm in Central Ia and don't deal with them on a daily basis, I've pretty much forgot about them.

Also, I think Iowa sucking is much better for Iowa State. I can't wait for bowl season when everyone is talking about Iowa State and and the hawks are getting and extended winter break.

Ahh yes, western iowa and its hatred for the Huskers. It was a childhood favorite for me too.

I root for Nebraska in this one. I get so annoyed with the Hawk fans that think this is some big rivalry, when in fact they probably won't come within 2 touchdowns any time this decade.

It is too a rivalry! I've nicknamed it the Cooter Ray Bowl.

    Re: Iowa or Nebraska?

Like a lot of others have alluded to, now that Nebraska is gone their success/failure doesn't have as much weight on us as it used to. A down Iowa is going to do much more for us, especially now as we appear to be on the rise. Look at this year; if Iowa loses they will be 4-8 and morale will be low, while on the other hand we have a legitimate shot to finish 8-5 with a bowl win and a lot to look forward to. With that we can continue to reverse the damage Hayden did to us 20-30 years ago. So GBR (shudders).

    Re: Iowa or Nebraska?

This is a bad question. I first read this and I took the question as who would you rather make out with. Your Mom or Sister?
There is no good answer. blah.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum....
