But a .500 record in the Big 12 means you're competing for a Big Ten championship this year. 90% of the Big 12 is as good or better than CCG Wisconsin. Fans in Iowa compare the two leagues and records and it's stupid. It's apples to oranges now. There aren't 3-4 easy wins in the Big 12 like there used to be, the league is stacked.
Comical that you are trying to make a point by using Wisconsin as a conference championship contender.
Are you still claiming the Big 12 is going to be a better basketball conference going forward too?

If Iowa State beat half the NFL teams they wouldn't be this Iowa State team, but since you think record is all that matters and who you play is meaningless, I guess they could hang in the NFL.
There are 4-5 easy wins to be had in the Big Ten and an extra non-conf game that can be an easy win. Going 6-6 with Minnesota or Iowa's schedule isn't remotely like going 6-6 with a top 10 schedule.
But go on thinking it's exactly the same to be 6-6 playing in the MAC and 6-6 with a top 10 schedule.
If we lose to all the good teams (the ones that inflate the SOS), it's still a loss. Name a good team we defeated this season.

Well if we get paired with them we better beat them, amiright?
Exactly.
This theme feels like shooting ourselves in the foot with a karma gun.
All the chest-thumping last season about the schedule brutality, then Iowa State couldn't beat Rutgers in a bowl game — some of us would've claimed RU would have been lucky to finish 4-8 vs. last season's ISU schedule (and common opponent UConn — Iowa State W; Rutgers L)
