Voters think the MAC is AWESOME for some reason this year. Computers, they think ISU has as much business in the BCS as these two teams.

NIU to the Big 12??? HAHAHAHA. Power conferences are just fighting each other for that valuable DeKalb TV market. And no, they do not bring the Chicago market. Hell, Northwestern barely brings the Chicago market.

Hell, Northwestern barely brings the Chicago market. I'd say 75% of the city is Bears fan zombies who don't know there is non-Bears football in this universe. Then Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State make up the next 20%. Then some Iowa and Wisconsin fans, then Illinois and Northwestern account for about one tenth of one percent combined.
NIU doesn't bring this market at all, but they're much closer to Chicago than Illinois and much easier to get athletes into than NW. If they could improve facilities and not lose their coach every three years they could become the next "BCS buster" like BSU, Utah, TCU were.

The MAC did quite well against crappy BCS AQ conferences like the Big Ten and Big East this year. Ball State beat South Florida and Indiana. Ohio beat Penn State. Kent State beat Rutgers. Central Michigan beat Iowa. Western Michigan beat UConn. Toledo took Arizona to OT on the road. -

They'd beat NIU 7 out of 10 times and Kent St. 9 out of 10 times.

I don't watch a lot of MAC football but that game was pretty exciting. I can't believe those coaches only get $300-400K.
The attendance at the PAC12 championship game was pathetic.

The Pythagorean THEOREM, on the other hand, is serious business.
