What a bunch of ****. OU should be in well ahead of them... thanks Nebby for screwing everything up.

Lose on a "neutral" field to a terrible Iowa team, play in BCS game. Not just lose, but allow a 2 TD comeback in the 4th quarter to one of the nation's most anemic offenses. BCS teams just don't do that.
They also don't allow 21 point 4th quarter comebacks to Kent State, MAC title game or not.
This looks like a nice, rear-covering mistake.

Re: Northern Illinois to the Orange Bowl
Regardless of how it affects the Big 12 or ISU, I'm usually supportive of the non-BCS schools earning a chance, but this NIU team is just not good enough. Just a horrible slate of BCS games this year.

Re: Northern Illinois to the Orange Bowl
if they would have won they would have stayed ahead of NIU thus maybe not allowing them to get in too 16

But instead they grabbed ankles in the B1G "title" game.

Originally Posted by Clonedogg how does kNU screw this up? The bigten isnt getting 2 teams in BCS?, surely not! what am i missing? If Nebraska wins they take a trip to the Rose bowl, and NIU is likely not in the top 16, thus blocking them out of a BCS bowl. with Nebby's loss Wiscy goes to the Rose bowl and NIU is bumped up enough into the top 16 spot to earn a trip to the Orange bowl.
If Nebby wins:
Nebby and (likely) OU goes to a BCS, Wisky and NIU are left out.
Since Wisky won:
NIU is now high enough to be forced into the BCS, Wisky is in by default as well, while Nebby and OU get owned.

Re: Northern Illinois to the Orange Bowl
Trying to find the silver lining here... is there a bigger dirtbag than NIU Coach Doeren whose hiring by NC State was announced the day after NIU's victory over Kent State? I'd lay a lot of money that that guy will never coach in a BCS game. Ever. All he had to do was not be a dirtbag and he'd be coaching in the Orange Bowl with this team.
This signature has received the stamp of disapproval from that one guy. -

NIU? Really? Wow. Seriously lame.
