Yeah, how embarrassing is it that a college football team that plays in a stadium smaller than most high schools in Texas is in a BCS bowl game?

Give OU, Georgia, A&M, or LSU NIU's schedule and they would all be undefeated and no team on their schedule would have come within 30 pts of them. This is just pathetic.

I won't be rooting for the little guys to get smashed. NIU and Louisville didn't do anything wrong here, did what they did and the system does what it does.

Rooting and expecting are two entirely different things.

At least people are starting to figure out that those non-AQ schools with gaudy records aren't necessarily all that good.

I agree. FSU is completely overblown because the media wanted them to be back more than they actually were and they play in probably the worst BCS conference. I think NIU has a shot to win this game.

Changes will be coming anyways with realignment, not like the Big East is going to be getting champions in anymore.

I'd like to see a MAC school do well, and I think the MAC is definitely up this year. But I don't think they are ready for this. Boise was definitely ready when they got in. NIU isn't. As a supporter of the non-BCS teams getting a fair shot at BCS games, I think this years match-ups will actually hurt those prospects.

By the way, did NIU somehow get propelled into the top 16 this week? If so, how in the heck did that happen?!?

The thing is though, on their rise, they at least beat one team a season that made you take notice. NIU lost to Iowa, seriously, Iowa, no offense, we could have lost to them as well, but I'm not arguing weather or not ISU deserved a BCS bid. In some respects I find this a complete travesty to college football, then again, the BCS is what it is and almost deserves this.

The sad part is as much as it invalidates college football to have a team with NIU's schedule make it, FSU is from the ACC, just above the MAC. Hard to say what you will see in that game.
