Sure, it's awful that they aren't functioning like they want to make a profit, but that isn't supposed to be the idea behind college sports anyway.
How is this a mockery? They want people there. They want students to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity for that school. I'm sure Iowa State would subsidize it if they were in it.Quote:

NIU has to pay for 17,500 tickets anyways whether or not they can sell them (avg attendance was less than that), why not get some students there?
I wonder if ISU ever went to a BCS bowl would they be able to sell 17,500 tickets? I hope I get to see it in my lifetime.
