Walden votes NIU 9 in Harris

I'm not a big BCS hater but I prefer computer polls over human polls in which results are manipulated. Anything that involves input from Jim Walden should be highly questioned.

In the Harris Poll, former Miami and Kentucky coach Fran Curci voted the Huskies No. 13. But the biggest outlier was former Iowa State coach Jim Walden, who voted Northern Illinois No. 9.
“Science investigates; religion interprets. Science gives man knowledge, which is power; religion gives man wisdom, which is control. Science deals mainly with facts; religion deals mainly with values. The two are not rivals. They are complementary.”

    Martin Luther King Jr.

Why are coaches and ex-coaches considered as pollsters. It makes absolutely zero sense.

He was also the voter to have Florida #1 and Ohio State #2 in 2006 when Florida ended up beating Ohio State 41-14.

Why don't they get rid of outliers from the collected data?

If I remember correctly the Harris polls original goal wasn't to find unbiased voters like most polls but to instead find somebody affiliated with each D1 school to vote, and I guess that's the best we had

Everyone wants the BCS to burn, this is his contribution, picking up where we left off with OSU last year.

    .

In 2014 when the 4 team playoff starts,ex coaches may be on the committee to select those teams so all this complaining makes zero sense.

The coaches poll needs to be completely done away with.

If you ever listened to the Jim and Jim show on WHO you know he and Zabel shared a brain. Obviously not a very good one. Of course it's possible that Zabel had the brain the day he filled this out.
