Re: Hawaii
I'm all anti-Hawaii, all the time. Buncha bitter hoodlums...I'd root for anyone else against them (except for Iowa obviously).

I'm no QB talent evaluator but I am a little skeptical of this.
I look at Texas Tech and Hawaii and see that their QB's put up unbelievable numbers EVERY YEAR...no matter who the QB is. I believe Timmy Chang was Brennan's predecessor and his stats were eye-popping as well. Heck, look at the numbers his back-up put on the board this year when he went down. And we all know that every QB at Texas Tech has astronimical stats. I think most of this is more credited to the unique system being run rather than the talent of the QB. I can't think of any recent QB from Hawaii or Texas Tech that did anything of note after leaving college.
Maybe Brennan breaks that trend...but as I said, I am skeptical.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Yes, his numbers are eye popping because of the system but having watched a number of their games (i stay up late) I can assure you that he has very real pro ability... He is able to force the ball downfield alot more than Chang and the TT qb's. Jones has said that Brennan has superior skills to any QB he has ever coached, college or pro. Thats alot considering he has coached Jim Kelley and Warren Moon...

Re: Hawaii
I'm no qb scout either, but I can tell Brennan can throw a rope. I've heard the knock on Daniels at Mizzou is that he floats his balls in the air, while Brennan throws a rope. His accuracy is definitely phenomenal and the yards come from both yards after the catch and downfield passing.

Re: Hawaii
Hawaii is down 21-0 to Washington already in the first quarter. There goes their chance to get into a BCS bowl.

Re: Hawaii
Can anyone tell me that they are not honestly rooting for the (underdog) Hawaii to win this game and screw this BCS thing up even further....?
21-7 now...

21-7 now... I'm not. I hope Hawaii loses, and I hope it's a beat down.

Re: Hawaii
The Hawaii comeback looked impressive. They managed to score the last 28 points in the game. Brennan has 433 total passing yards.

Re: Hawaii
It's pretty sad when you're at home with a potential BCS birth on the table and you have to make a furious comeback to hold off a 4-9 team. They probably deserve something for going 12-0 but there's about 10-15 teams in America that would finish 12-0 with that schedule. Brennan was definitely on his game, though.

Contrarily, I thought the win was impressive. Had they roared off to a big lead and then held on, I would have been a lot less impressed.

Re: Hawaii
No Matter what they do, or how they do it, they'll never get the respect or BCS game they deserve. They've won every game. They win after spotting a team 21 points in the first quarter but still it's not enough. I'm sure USC will be preaching about how they deserve a national title game, and people will listen, even though they've lost to a team that's worse than Washington (Stanford). I don't think Hawaii is the best team in the country, but they are the only team that deserves to be in the title game.
