Iowa to make NCAA Tourney?

All I heard last night is how Iowa is NCAA bound. Not so fast. I still believe Iowa State ends up with a better record. Looking at Iowa's Big 10 Schedule I think they will start 0-6 in Big 10 play. I think Iowa ends up 10-3(Losing to UNI) in non conference. That means they need 10+ wins in Big 10. They arn't going to get 10+ wins in a stacked Big 10 this year. On the othe hand Iowa State should win out in non conference. Winning 10+ games in the Big 12 should not be hard. I think Iowa State ends up with 21 wins and making the Tourney. I think Iowa ends with 17 MAYBE 18 wins. Its not how you start...its how you finish the year.

Yea, I'm not going to make any predictions on their season based on how well they played in a rivalry game at home. From watching their other games I don't think they are a tourney team though, I would predict NIT at the moment for them.

I was thinking about this, but I think the Big 12 is much better in football than the B1G is in basketball, and the B12 is much better at basketball than the B1G is in football.

I'm just talking from what I see now. Lets be honest the Big 12 is down this year. Alot. The Big 10 may be the best Bball conference this year. Iowa's youth WILL catch up with them down the road this year.

Iowa is going to pull a few upsets like last year but Minnesota, Illinois and maybe NW look like they may be better than anticipated. Wiscy and Purdue aren't as good. I think Iowa will win about as many games as last year in conference.

All I'm going to say is that Iowa will likely be in the post season, I don't know if they will make the NCAA but they will probably be close, probably end up just out of it. Keep in mind that 20 wins might not be needed to get in considering they are in the Big 10 which is considered very deep. We will see how things shape out.

Regardless, I would agree that it is stupid to get your pants in a wad over whether you think they will make it or not. If they do or don't it will probably be by a few wins that make or break them. Is this really that important, whether we lost to a team that barely made the tourney over a team that barely missed it?

I don't think the Big 10 football was over-hyped this year. Everyone seemed to be in agreement that they sucked.
