Bad news for Nebby either way. They hate spreads, they cannot stop Monte Ball.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Re: Wisconsin to hire Gary Andersen (Utah State)

jon miller did a piece on this....here's some funny points.

owa is coming off its most successful decade in school history (with Ferentz at the helm), their facilities are nearly on par with the major college football programs in the nation (all that's left is the office space and new weight room coming in the second phase of the indoor facility, which will be completed by August of 2014) and they have shown a financial commitment in salary for their head coach which is among the biggest in the sport.

Madison is a great city, as is Iowa City. The fan support in Madison is great, just as it is at Iowa; both schools are among the top 10 or 15 bowl draws related to fan support. Wisconsin's facilities are not where Iowa's facilities are right now but changes are on the way.

Wisconsin, like Iowa, is one bad hire away from a steep drop off.

Come here to chew bubble gum and kick ***, have I. And all out of bubble gum, I am.

Granted, I can understand the move, but in hindsight I think he probably wishes he'd said things a little bit differently. It's a good hire for sure.

Andersen leaving USU for Wisconsin - ABC4.com - Salt Lake City, Utah News

Andersen's move would come as a surprise only because he has so publicly stated recently that he planned to stay at Utah State after turning down other offers in the past month. The Utah native was a candidate at Colorado, California and Kentucky.

"Opportunities are wonderful. It was very humbling the last three or four weeks to go through that process and be involved in jobs. You learn a lot, but you also learn a lot about yourself and where you want to be," Andersen told the Idaho Statesman last week. "And you sit back and take a deep breath and know who you want to be able to be around. I love the kids I get to coach here. ... The kids I have in the program, it just was not time. I look them in the eye and I need to be where I'm at."
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

Oh come on; he was a heck of a kicker for the Vikes.

I wouldn't exactly put Iowa City on par with Madison.

This is a good hire for Wisky. This guy had some really competitive teams at a wildly irrelevant school.
