Oregon floor

Just saw the end of the Oregon/Arizona game.

The floor looks like a massive spill of acid that stripped the stain from the middle of the floor. The splotches on the floor would be very distracting and seem horrible to play on.

Let me guess, you are associated with the Design School.

Seriously, what do you like about it? It is one thing to be unusual in terms of design, but wouldn't it bother you to play on a floor that is imbalanced and splotchy? I would think refs wouldn't like it because they have keep an eye on the stripes, but they seem to be able to deal with floors that have all sorts of lines.

Just saw the floor again on Sports Center. Can't help thinking that it looks like there was a huge off-season roof leak that ruined the finish of the floor.

I think it is a cool idea that just didn't quite work. It is hard to tell what it is a picture of and the lights on the court doesn't help..
