What would move to new league mean for Creighton? - Omaha.com
As a Jesuit institution that draws nearly two-thirds of its student body from beyond the boundaries of its home state, Creighton, by membership in the new league, would put its name and image in some of the nation's largest media markets.
“Your basketball team is your biggest marketing brochure,'' said Andrew Fellingham, a New York-based college athletics consultant.
“Do you want to put your biggest marketing brochure in New York, Chicago, Milwaukee and Cincinnati, or do you want to put it in Wichita?''
So when these teams play, what side will God be on?

Maybe now, they will schedule games with us in OOC. Would be fun.

Will the Valley replace them and if so with who? I think they may move into the Dakotas.

I think NDSU and SDSU would be a good fit for them and both could be very competitive at all sports. Makes you wonder if they will grab just one team or take the two bigger Dakota schools and then reach out to a UW-Milwaukee or other school like it for a third and go to twelve teams.
On a side note makes you wonder what this will do to Creighton basketball. As someone who grew up in Western Iowa watching the Omaha news I remember the old Tony Barone days when they played in Civic and couldn't get 500 people to come to a game. ISU also used to play them non-con almost every year and it used to get VERY ugly for Creighton in those days. Can't help but think that they are going to be going from first to worst. McD ball cannot handle very physical and athletic teams and that is what they will be facing every night. Plus the fact that Creighton will be at the biggest disadvantage for recruiting in the conference. It's the furthest away from the talent hot spots that the Big East recruits and schools like ISU, KU, KSU, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc will still pull in the top midwest talent.
It will be interesting to see what the MVC does and how Creighton will handle the upgrade in conference.

Wow... GMac back to the big leagues... where we know how great he is.... not.
Good luck recruiting players good enough to win against the big boys versus playing SW Missouri State Tech Greg.
