Kentucky loses at home
to UAB. Did Tubby pull an Alford and leave the cupboard bare?

Re: Kentucky loses at home
It wasn't at home. It was a neutral site playing at Louisville for some reason.
“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.” -

UAB is a pretty good team.

Re: Kentucky loses at home
Kentucky lost to UAB a couple years back in the NCAA tourney I believe, and that is when Kentucky was a one seed. UAB has been a good team for quite a while now. They had Anderson (Mizzou's coach) as coach and I believe they now have Mike Davis as coach. They will continue to get some great players to go there

Re: Kentucky loses at home
Doesn't matter. UK fans want a coach who can win the little games.

Bare at Kentucky would be well stocked at most programs in the country. I know they have a couple McD's all-americans on the roster still at least. I would guess the reason for the struggles is adjustment to Gillespie's style and system at this point. As we well know, it can take a while to switch to a different system, even with that much talent.

Re: Kentucky loses at home
I'm sure Kentucky will continue to struggle this year. We all know Billy G is one helluva coach, he's proven that. Pete Carroll went 6-6 in his first season at SC and hasn't looked back since. I expect similar things at UK.

Re: Kentucky loses at home
The talent at UK is fine. However, it is the one area that UK supporters always knocked him for...they felt UK should get even better talent than he brought in. Unfortunately, Tubby is not a guy that likes the primadonna type kid so he never really went after them.
Gillispie is a heckuva coach...but so is Tubby. Tubby was 79-43 at Tulsa, 45-19 at UGa and 263-83 at UK. He will have similar success at Minnesota...he was a great hire for them.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Re: Kentucky loses at home
The game was played in Louisville, but it is considered a "home game"
I guess they play there a couple times every year.
