Bracketology

Any else notice that Bracketology has 7 seed Drake playing 10 seed Baylor? Does that mean the world is about to end? Or maybe my head is going to explode.

GO DRAKE!!!

Re: Bracketology

Yeah - Drake is tied for 1st in the MVC with Illinois St (Southern Illinois is 2-3 in conf play, yikes). There's an insider column about the Big 12 today as well, and after KU who they say is the cream of the conf, obviously, they state that Baylor is in the next best 4 teams in the conference.

I also liked the set up of KSU playing West Virginia in the first round. Any bets on how bad Bill Walker would want to go for about 40 pts and 20 rebs against his "friend" and former coach that walked out on him? :)

I just hurled myself through a wormhole and somehow ended up on the eve of the 2005 NCAA tournament.

Re: Bracketology

ugh. are the seeds set for each place they play? by that, i mean, desmoines will only have a 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14 seeds? I guess i don't know completely how selection and seeding works and all that, but they'll try to keep the women playing near home if they can right? So, if they're diserving of a 7 seed, would the committee maybe slide them down to an 8 so they could play here? cause that'd almost be a jip, having to play the #1 if you won your first round... just wondering if anybody had any insight. Just figure it'd be better to go somewhere else as a 7 seed than stay home as an 8? i guess you'd end up playing a 2 seed anyways right....?...

I don't know much about Drake's team this year and am too lazy to go look it up. Do they lose anyone after this year?

drake is good, beat us by 35 haha. but they got josh young the leading scorer in the MVC at 17ppg, lenard houston at 15ppg, johnathan cox a 6'8" their big guy at 12ppg and then korver can shoot the ******* lights out at times

why do the flag in jack trice always fly to the east?
-cuz the hawks suck, and the huskers blow

They sound like a real fine team. Sometmes the perfect storm happens and you get a real good team.

If I recall correctly from a radio interview, if the ISU women make the Big Dance, as the Des Moines host school, they are guaranteed to be placed in Des Moines for rounds one and two.

I went to Bracketography.com and they have Drake an 8 seed playing Ohio State in the same division as #1 UCLA. Interesting.

I would love to see Drake have a sweet sixteen year or something of the sort. It doesn't happen too often (or never) for them and it would be cool. Of course it hasn't been happening for us lately either :( .

On the women's side of things, regardless of the seeding (doubt we end up a 1, but who knows) we will end up in DSM. But think about this, in the current bracketology who would want to be the 1 seed in DSM. Made for TV upset!

Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:

They have actually made it deeper in the tournament then we ever have. They made the final four in 1969 and lost to Lew Alcinder and UCLA by three, gave them the best game in the tournament, no other team came within 15.
