The State of Iowa has 4 teams ranked in the Top 25 in NAIA DII

Only Undefeated Team in Division II MBB Tops NAIA Coaches' Poll :: Morningside (Iowa) stands 22-0; Travels to No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) next Wednesday

There are 4 teams from the state of Iowa ranked in the top 25, with another on the edge of being ranked. Three of those teams are in the top 10...including the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country. Just something intriguing I found and thought I'd pass it along.

Im from Sioux City where Morningside is located and grew up around all the NAIA athletics....Morningside has been good in both men and womens basketball for a long time...There football team is very solid as well always in the top ten. Heading into this previous season had the most wins of any college program in Iowa for like the past 5 years or something.

Does Morningside still have the "razzers" in the stands? Those guys had the way of getting under the opponents' skins, back in the day. Coach used to say they were worth 10 points.

Almost as good as the Wrigley Field "Bleacher Bums."

When I was growing up there, the Morningside/Briar Cliff game was always a hot ticket. I had a friend that played for BC, and we got good seats behind the bench and counted how many times Ray Nacke stomped his foot violently.

If only the Wrigley Field "Bleacher Bums" were worth 10 of something...

maybe 10 chants of "left field sucks" and then left field bleacher bums yell "right field sucks" that's always classic. Or even, the guy out there with the hose on hot days spraying all the drunken lunatics.

Twa Twa

Maybe we could convince some of their guards to transfer...?

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I-S-U!
