Was intense and crazy tonight. They played a nationally ranked team on national TV.
Just like we will Saturday. Their team is AWEFUL this year and they STILL brought it. (they have in their other games Ive watched this year too)
Should be a challenge to us ISU fans to see if we can start matching the crowd intensity that most every other school you watch on TV is bringing.

Im sorry but we have no where near the crowd of Illinois. Sell out every game, no matter what even if there is a snow storm. We have a LONG ways to go to even be up to the caliber of the Orange Krush.

I think one of the biggest things going for them is the students don't ***** and moan about having to wear their orange shirts to the game.
"But I don't want to have to wear what they tell me to wear. I'm an adult and I should be able to express myself the way I want. I'll still wear an Illini shirt, but don't make me wear the shirt they gave me to wear." We must be the only fan base in America that complains about that...

Yeah, their team is pretty bad, but they still come out and support the team. The student's are crazy about basketball. It does help a lot that they are near Chicago.

I agree with you, more or less. I wouldn't say our fans complain, but they definitely do not comply. It's amazing that we cannot seem to have a certain color be the majority in our crowd. When Penn State does their white-out games, I think it's absolutely amazing, but I also know that it would never happen here. I don't think we could ever have a large majority of the crowd wear the same color unless the shirts were put in the seat before the fans go there. Even then, people still probably wouldn't put them on.
Don't want to open a can of worms, but I wish our crowd could do things as one like that.

Assembly is considered one of the toughest places to play in America because of the Orange Crush... it is relentless no matter their record and no matter who they're playing. Gordon was icing on their cake last night... and that place is a big arena too (it's not like Duke who has one of the smaller gyms in America - I think <10k in seating)

Maybe E. Gordon's family goes to all of his road games but, wow, why would they go to Assembly? They had to know they were going to get attacked. I'm surprised they didn't get more than just ice and beads thrown at them.
I'm not agreeing with that type of behavior by the Illini fans, but that's probably not the best situation you want to put you and your family in.
