The Bulldogs of the Missouri Valley Conference are 21-1 and sixth in Ken Pomeroy’s most recent rankings, ahead of UCLA and Georgetown.

At this moment, yes they probably are... But chances are they will start to falter soon. I hope that they don't, but I doubt they can keep this up...
They will definitely win the MVC and go to the dance, but I can't see them making it past the second round.

if they make it atleast to the sweet 16 I would say they are but they need to go deep into the tournament to be the number 1

Thank you for beating Iowa |

At this point, Drake is simply a great reg. season story to those teams. But...there's time...

it's so hard to tell because the MVC is so bad this year. I want to see how they do against Butler in the bracketbuster before I completely drink this Kool-Aid.

What about Villanova when they were an 8 seed?

Right now Lunardi (ESPN) has them as a #3 seed in the Midwest. The #6 seed in region is A&M and if it were to happen, I believe A&M would roll over Drake. They are a solid team but the Aggies are an up and coming force and I see them going deep into the tourney.

They will definitely win the MVC and go to the dance, but I can't see them making it past the second round. This is what I keep thinking too. They'll lose at Creighton. Ok, so they won at Creighton, they won't beat them at home too. Ok, so they swept Creighton, they'll lose at Illinois State.
At this point, I'm through doubting them. Even if the MVC is down, I don't think it is THAT down. What they're doing is impressive, and they have the confidence to win.
You can't truly judge the quality of a team until it loses, and if you look at the rest of their schedule, at this point I'd be surprised if that loss happens before the tourney.

When they play Southern Illinois @ Southern Illinois, that will be a tough game, considering that Southern Illinois has only lost one conference game at home in 7 years.

I thought this up until they swept Creighton and Ill St. They are owning the valley right now and I'm not going to pick against them until they do lose one.

RIP jimmy valvono If we're talking historical, how about the time that Drake went to the Final Four and lost to eventual champion UCLA by only 3 points during UCLA's big string of championships.
