FB:USC off to a good start in 09 recruiting

After having a "down year" in FB recruiting in 2008 (finished 7th in the publication I saw), USC appears to be off to a strong start for 2009. According to this article, USC has received verbals from 7 of the top 100 players (as ranked by Rivals) already for 2009.

The class is highlighted by the #1 player in 09, who comes from the QB producing Mater Dei High School, a Catholic school in Santa Ana.

It's safe to say that USC is 75% done with their recruiting (other than staying in touch) by mid summer IMO.

I bet they still lose to an underdog. I always hated the Trojans, with their wee-beady eyes and that smug look on their face!

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. "

How can you hate Trojans? They're a #1 brand...

The kid in the article is a "cross between Montana and Brady"? Um, he is only seventeen mabey they should let him graduate high school before annointing him the next great one.

jcats - look at his stats and the records he will most likely break next year ... not to mention the fact that he comes from a qb factory school at mater dei .... i'm not trying to argue with what your saying but the numbers dont lie ...

i was not trying to say that he was not a great qb(he is obviously that), just pointing out that is some pretty lofty company.

Why not go to USC. You are in Southern Cali with some of the hottest women around, plus all the extra "benefits" of being a USC student, like free NBA tickets and money from agents, etc. That's the good life!!

How am I supposed to think outside the box when I work in a cube?

Interesting that a high school whose name means "Mother of God" produces such god-like football players. Coincidence?

The thing is, that kid won't play for a couple of years since they have Sanchez and Mustain.

how many millions have they spent on these players for 09 so far?

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams
