Agreed, getting Sanctions out of the Big 12 is great. I don't know they might want to hire Alford now to rehab their image. UNM might not have beaten anybody this year, but they are 18-6 with a team that went 15-17 (4-12) last year. He can say he injected some life into that program. I could see it.

Shucks, that's what I was going to say.
Has anybody checked to see if they've called a foul on Bryan Peterson in this thing yet? (Sorry, just woke up)

I was just about to say KSU would probably welcome him.

This is ridiculous and I assume Sampson will somehow escape as always. I think we're all in agreement on here, but does anyone think it will have any impact on him or the way the NCAA hands out punishments?
This Lucca thing still has me iritated

So the guy abuses cell phones. He is probably the one on the phone walking in and out of restrooms squaking.

I'm a little surprised nobody mentioned Mr. Sampson was good buddies with our old basketball coach Larry Eustachy.
IU should have seen this one coming, but they were a bit desperate. Even more reason for the citizens of Indiana to switch to Purdue!
I bet Coach Sampson is gone soon.

I think Bob Knight saw this thing coming and that is why he retired from Tx Tech. He wants to go back and coach again at IU. LOL!!

Sleep with the dogs and you'll get fleas. I'm surprised nobody at Indiana knew that.

There are some thoughts that if/when Sampson gets the boot that the AD will/should go with him. Not only did the current AD hire Sampson, but he botched the original investigation into "cellphone-gate".

Sportscenter had a good note in their story on this, by pointing out the Jim O'Brien saga at Ohio State, that he was able to win a lawsuit by pointing out that he was fired before the NCAA's official ruling. In his case, he turned out to be innocent (I think), whereas Sampson seems unlikely to be so.
They mentioned the option of a suspension until June, when the matter is officially heard. I don't know if I'm just way too sleepy from working, but that seemed to make some good sense. He knows he's gone, but they have their ducks in a row, and don't get bitten in the backside for doing the right thing.
Given the possible circumstances, what would you folks do?

Given the possible circumstances, what would you folks do? I would have never hired him in the first place!!! If I was the AD in this situation, I would fire him and have Dan Dakich coach the rest of the season.

As stated above, Indiana wants to avoid what Ohio State went through with O'brien. If they can find enough uncontested evidence that Sampson is guilty he will be dismissed for cause immediately. If not they will wait for the NCAA to put them on probation, take away a scolarship, restrict their recruiting, prohibit 1 season of post season play, and embarrass the University that has taken pride in running a clean program. Whick do you think is most likely?
