They deserve it the way they are playing.
Anyone else think that the NCAA figures out who their #1 seeds are and then picks the location near them? :)

Drake still has yet to beat a power conference team. I don't consider us or Iowa to be power conference teams, namely because both teams aren't really that good at all.
They're an NCAA team no doubt, but they could easily be a 5-12 victim this year. I've got a tough time putting them above a 5 seed. No victories over anyone higher that #49 in the RealTime RPI. I'm sure I'll get hated on for doubting them, but the NCAA won't be easy for them. I don't think the Selection Committee loves them enough to seed them any higher than 5 as of now.........

If they were an east coast team, they would be a #2 or #3 for sure.
Butler is their chance to shut people up.

#3 would be a new high as far as seeding goes for a non-power conference school, would it not?

Yep...if they beat Butler, they will REALLY become the media darlings across the US and also that will help justify a higher seeding.

Someone here at the office asked me how the "Cys" (as he puts it) were doing. After mentioning injuries and the NCAA suspension of one of our players I said that I'd have to pull for Drake in the tournament this year totally figuring to get that "who's that" response and have to explain who they were. I was surprised (and shocked) that they were very knowledgable and aware of Drake being an Iowa school.

If they win out, including the conference tourney, I think they have a good shot at #3. If they lose only to Butler (and assuming they keep it close), they likely come in at a #5.

I don't see them getting a 3 seed unless they can beat Butler and win the MVC tourny as well as they haven't played any top competition thus far

I find it interesting that the WCC takes up half of the #6 seeds available (between St. Mary's and Gonzaga)

If they lose they will most likely drop considerably, so hopefully they don't.

With the RPI wins that they have had, a #5 seed would be generous.

Drake is not out of the woods yet. They will get their first loss in MV tonight. Going undefeated in conference is a great accomplishment, but the MV is way down this year compared to the past 3 years. Look for Drake to be 20-5 on selection Sunday, and a 6-7 seed. I'm still a skeptic, even though they were 35 points better than my favorite team for one game.

St. Joseph's was a 1 seed a couple years ago, weren't they?

I don't think the MVC is as weak as people think. Just different teams are good.
