Tim Floyd would be an interesting hire. A place he doesn't have to recruit too hard and he could really showcase his coaching ability on the big stage

I would have to say Timmy seems pretty content at USC. He has done wonders with that program and he has OJ Mayo.

It sounds like Indiana will be going after Iowa coach Licklitter. He is from Indiana
a solid citizen and a good coach.

That would be splendid. His contract might preclude him from interviewing in conference though.

I hope they do, but I doubt Lick would leave this soon. Lick probably wishes he had waited on more year to move though, because I would bet he would be right up there on list.

Rumor is that they basically gave the 1 week timeframe to work on a buyout for Sampson's contract.

The thread was started on 2/13, so Friday would have been last Friday. I doubt if they cut him loose till after the season, although I expect him to be suspended after Indiana finishes their internal investigation.

You are right on this. Ohio State just had to pay Jim O'Brien about $3 Million dollars for jumping the gun when they fired him.

I think it is more on a game to game basis, and once they can figure out how to get rid of him, without having being vulnerable to any future action, he will be gone.

As far as who they hire, I think that Mark Few would again be at the top of their list. I think that Tim Floyd, and more importantly Beverly Floyd, like LA way too much to move to Bloomington. Although, I could be wrong.

Anymore word on whether the AD is exiting with KS since he did create this mess and did a lousy job during the search for head coach? I think it would be typical SA to leave the Lobo's in the dust and take that job....and I would laugh and laugh!

They get into the top 25 every couple years but never seem to do anything. I will admit that their run to the final 4 a few years back was impressive but its Mich State and Wisconsin that have been dominating the Big 10 in recent memory. For a school with the tradition and prestige of IU, they never seem to do any better then 4th or so.
