This may be the first time live basketball has to be broadcast with a seven second delay.

Re: The General back in basketball?

It could be worse. At least ESPN didn't try to hire Magic Johnson to analyze live games.

There was an old joke when Magic analyzed NBA games on NBC:

"The NBA is now broadcasting games in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Magic Johnson."

Magic was great in the NBA. My sister was a freshman at Michigan St. when the Spartans with Magic won the NCAA Championship. And the Lakers were my favorite team in the 80s (also because they had James Worthy) besides the 76ers with Dr. J. But Magic was horrible on NBC.

Bobby Knight, a member of the media? That doesn't sound right.

We'll see if ESPN can contain him. He is bound to offend someone.

Guess he will be in Ames next year talking about Xs and Os and flinging chairs. Wonder if he will be critical of his boy's team as an anal ist?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Offend someone? I'm putting $100 Cycredits that he doesn't go a week before he chokes someone out. $1000 Cycredits that it is a media corporate executive or support personnel.

After a month, I'd put real money on him taking a folding chair to the back of Brent Musberger's head. (I have no idea if he'll ever work with Pusberger.)
