Virginia Retires Sean Singletary's Number

Virginia retired Sean Singletary's number tonight on senior night. I know he is in the Virginia record books in just about every category, but don't know that I have ever seen a number retired with games yet to play on the season?!?!

I don't think I've ever seen that either, but it's kind of a neat idea to honor a great player.

There has been some discussion as to whether or not #13 will be retired someday. As a player, Rahshon was not at the very top of any individual category, but he was very high up in several categories- a testament to his versatility. Points, rebounds, blocks, 3's. Not to mention one of the most loyal players we've ever had, and a class act on and off the court. I think it would've blown the roof off Hilton if we had done something like this yesterday!

There is a story in Sports Illustrated the other day that Virginia retired the jersey of football player Chris Long on Senior day too. Maybe they are starting a new thing.
