Even Bush himself spoke about the fact that he feared the since Carroll knew that his parents were living in this agents 275,000 house, that he would launch his own investigation - USC didnt. I don't think the university can turn their heads when they know something is going on - its no different then Captain Kirk saying he didnt know his own kid was living in a title 19 housing complex and banking all the university provided housing allowance.
Again, its all about how much a program wants to turn their heads and not say anything.....USC will get burned on theirs, the paper trail is gaining speed and things appear to be directly linked and the NCAA will not turn their head on this (well maybe they will..)
Here's a great story about it...worth the read and spells out everything and who gave it to Bush - it gets no clearer then this....
Cash and carry - Reggie Bush Investigation - Yahoo! Sports
Make your own conclusions.....again, i'm not about to think the university didnt know any of this and the head coach which in this case his most prized player, he knew and turned his head for success......
You totally misunderstood what I said. You said Bush received these benefits BECAUSE he played at USC. I say he received them because he was the best player in college football. He could have been at San Diego State and still getting this. It was a choice he and his family made, nobody from USC gave him this house. They may not have investigated but thats a whole other story.
The point is, bigger programs aren't necessarily dirty because they get better players. They get better players because of tradition, coaching, facilities, and the future. Sure, there may be slightly more infractions, but usually it has to do with boosters.
Has OSU had their problems? Sure have. But, IMO, it's no worse than what's happened in many other programs. I don't think Tressel is dirty. I would be very surprised if he ran a dirty program. I do think, however, that OSU has some shady boosters that could potentially end up hurting the program big some day.
Don't get me wrong, I hate the Buckeyes just as much as the next guy, but come on.
