Yeah...way to many bad shots but they did even out until the end.

    Re: Poor Drake....

WKU just shot lights out most of the game and Drake didn't. Emmeneck wasn't as productive getting to the lane and dishing off. That game really sucked! I'm not even that excited about the rest of the tournament.

I know everyone here is tired of hearing about Drake, but what an awesome story. Great kids. And this probably won't happen to them again in awhile. I could have stayed on the bandwagon as long as it was going.

Not sure why anyone would be shocked that Drake lost.

AAAAAAAHHHHH! I'm talking about HOW they lost people! On a last second three-point shot from about 28 feet away! From someone who normally who wouldn't dream about taking that shot!

i'm really not that surprised that Drake lost. I had them losing in one of my brackets. It's HOW they lost. For crying out loud, is it really that hard to figure out what I'm saying?

I got it from people that I have talked to that have been listening to the local media talk about Drake 24X7 for the last several months. If someone hears a team's name enough, they seem to think they must be awesome.

Drake had a great year and a pretty decent team. Bottomline, they won a MVC championship in a down year for the conf, then got beat by a 12 seed. End of story.

    Re: Poor Drake....

    Dammit that sucked..........

I think Drakes biggest problem was they ran in to a team that plays just like they do. Darn I was hoping they would pull it off.

And the lucky shot comment? That was awesome play calling and even better execution since everyone was keying on 'what's his name' who brought the ball up to be the one taking the shot. Kudo's to W Kentucky.

Oh, and my emotions are a heck of a lot more in check then they were when we lost to Hampton in 2001 and to Michigan State in 2000. I was fit for a psych ward after those two games.

    Re: Poor Drake....

I hate to say it, but that was a poorly reffe'd game for both teams. The blatent over and back missed call, the phantom calls on Emmenecker, the "charge" Emmenecker took at the end of regulation, etc. I don't know I've ever seen so many charges called and then they let them go at it in the OT.

I'm not saying the calls affected the game, it was just strangely called IMO.

Me, either. I got the sense that they were really enjoying the story. And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a good story.

I agree. And I dont know why people are so smugly happy about Drake losing. I would understand out of staters feeling such, but Iowans really should be happy one of our damn teams are in the tourney to begin with. If you want to trash on the bandwagon fans, fine so be it. But the team played their hearts out and have been successful. Good for them.

    Re: Poor Drake....

I thought it was funny seeing everyone who was suddenly a "fan" giving up early in the second half. Tough way to lose, but the team didn't quit...

Yeah, but losing as a 2 seed is a lot more surprising than losing as a 5 seed. Way different.

I understand what you're saying. It's not how they lost, it's the fact that they lost. I gotcha now.

This is true except for Cotlar, he was worse then Zabel. I have not listened to him now for a couple of weeks because it was getting so bad. Every guest and almost every question somehow came back to Drake and the MVC.

He had Jay Bilas on and I laughed the whole time because he sounded like a whiney hawk fan defending Drake and the MVC to Bilas, I guess Bilas was right.
