How does Wisconsin ALWAYS have a big physical white boy down low? How can we not get corn fed boys like that at Iowa State? I miss Jared Homan......... | |

I agree. Even though Butch is slow, he still takes up a lot of space and can put the ball in the bucket if he gets it close enough to the basket.

Exactly. It doesn't have to be a guy that can be a huge scoring threat. Just take up space, play physical, and keep guys like Bill Walker and Beasley at bay. A name I haven't heard in a while got brought up the other night with my roommates... remember Damion Staple? He did everything we lacked this year.

Damion wasn't thick like Homan was, but he was a pretty decent defender. Not a big offensive threat, like you said, but someone that can get opposing players out of the lane and make them work for their baskets. If I remember right, he was decent at shot blocking.

It's not even that they have ONE guy, they have TONS of guys. They have a whopping EIGHT guys 6'7" or taller, and all but one of those guys weigh at least 220 lbs.

Maybe we should hire Bo Ryan away to recruit post guys for us.
BTW, if they like cheese, and we have folks that like to complain, would that make us a "whine-and-cheese crowd."
