Thats like the pictures of the "phantom" holding call against Mizzou for McCarney's last game. I think since Sloan was fouled by 2 guys, it offsets as a clean play. Damn UCLA and Kevin Love

Wow, I even watched the replay a couple times but the angle from behind looked like a block. I didn't realize it was that bad. Man, this board would be going crazy if that happened to us.

I love reading other peoples boards when they are ****ed off because I know a lot of us here have been in that same situation!

Nice catch, cyclonemaniac7. I have always been highly suspicious of how NCAA tournament refs "manage" the game. I have little to no doubt that with the volume of money that exchanges hands because of bets that several refs get their "retirement funds" enhanced due to what they call or don't call come tournament time.

They do make a valid point. For once I agree with the A&M fans. Three times this year UCLA, has been rescued by a terrible call/no call.

The problem with still photos like that is it lets you selectively choose "when" the foul occurred.
I didn't see that play or the game. But both pictures look to be well after the initial contact - whether that be with the ball or an actual foul.
If that were video, the preceeding 10 frames may show all ball. Just like the next frame in the picture of the Aggie player getting called, may show a ton of contact.
Still photos in BBall don't really tell much, IMO.

In the 2nd photo, you can clearly see Schipp's hand grabbing Sloan's wrist. Seems like a foul to me.

Still photos in BBall don't really tell much, IMO. If you get the ball, then proceed to rip the guys arms off in the process, it's still a foul. I think the fact that the aTm player had to pick himself up off the deck after that play speaks to the amount of contact he encountered. A&M got screwed bad in that game, and not just on that play.

I thought it should have been called when I saw the initial play on TV (without the benefit of replay). I saw Sloan's hand essential get pulled back as he was trying to release the ball.
Replay confirmed what I originally thought....aTm got screwed!!

That's all I'm saying.
It's entirely possible he hammered the living daylights out of him. It's also possible that the preceeding ten frames show nothing but a clean block and as Sloan is falliing down (notice how his shooting hand is no longer behind the ball, but on the side of it?) then the blockers hand comes down and gets his wrist.

I am getting really sick of the refs swallowing the whistle at the end of games. It is one thing to allow some physical play on a rebound but it seems they are unable to call anything in the closing seconds. Clemson was jobbed, A&M has a gripe, Butler should be upset. It is amazing the touch fouls they will call early in the game only to allow a mauling go without a whistle.
Bobby Knight rant over.

And if it were and ISU player who got whistled, every person on this board would be screaming bloody murder and posting umpteen pictures of how it was a clean block 10 frames earlier - just like the A&M fan is.
If he made and initial clean block and there was contact on the way down - that call will almost never be made. You see it EVERY, SINGLE, GAME
