Credits: 45,588 NFL: Packers NBA: Pistons | Anybody else hate wisconsin basketball recruiting? I was thinking about it the other day about how annoyed I am about them getting all of the big man recruits I always wanted us to have. In 2007 They got Jon Leuer Keaton Nankivil 2008 Jared Bergen Ian Markolf they also got jason bohanon but I realize morgan didnt really go after him 2010 Most likely they will get 5 Star Evan Anderson And Even in 2008 L.A. Pomlee wants to go there even with all the other bigs they keep getting. I cant believe we couldnt even get one of these guys. Maybe the tide will turn in a couple of years |

Yeah, not only that, but they are after Rodney Williams Jr, and are almost surely getting Jamil Wilson. Oh yeah, they were high on Royce White's list until they pulled his offer. It's like us, Minnesota, and Wisconsin go after the same recruits every year, and Wisconsin gets 75%, Minnesota 15%, and us 10. I wonder why we are always after the same players? |

It comes down to coaching and the system. Iowa and Iowa State find themselves bumping into the Wisky on the trails. Gonna have to start getting some of those players. |

Thanks Jon, I agree Bo Ryan and Mcdermott go after the same kind of players and now Iowa is as well. Just kinda sucks that we keep losing out all of these battles with them |

Your more right, I am jealous of them getting all of the recruits we go after but more of it is I am frustrated that we couldnt get one of them and that 5 star Evan Anderson will most likely be going there. Be nice to win a recruiting battle with them for once |

Bo addressed this very point during an interview yesterday on a national radio network (believe it was on ESPN). He targets guys with whom he can deal with only the player, the family, and the coach. He refuses to get involved with guys that he described as needing to go through 15 different layers of involved parties. |

The guy is one of the best coaches in the country and does more with less than anyone in the country. I am not surprised so many players want to play for him. If ISU starts winning people will want to come play for GMac, give it some time. |

Same for football. Winning means a lot to the kids. And our fans do not want to wait a decade any more for winning teams.
