I'm not saying they weren't good. They throttled a good UW team and beat some other good teams on their way to the EE. However, I'd compare them to a watered down George Mason. They had hardly any inside presence, and had it not been for Curry, they would have been knocked out in the 2nd round.
They were good, but nothing more than a really good story. They beat the second (Georgetown) and third (Wisconsin) seeded teams. They played North Carolina and Duke tough, both on the road. Their inside players were not that good offensively, but they were very good defensively. I totally disagree with you, if you are saying they weren't a very good team. As for taking away Curry, you can say that about most of the best teams. Take away Hansbrough from UNC, take away Augustin from Texas, Rose from Memphis, etc. etc. That argument doesn't make much sense to me.

Just my opinion, I just never saw them really winning the entire thing - which is what I'd consider a "really good" team. They were good, but too one dimensional to seal the deal.
They were exciting, but I have a feeling that UNC (played today) or Memphis would have done quite a bit better against them than what KU did today. UNC and Memphis are easily the best teams left.

I was at the game today and was there Friday as well. Kansas did not get exposed. Davidson is a very good defensive team. Very good. KU's shots were not falling for most for the game, and most were in and outs. Just weren't getting the bounces to build any sort of lead.
That being said. This was by far the toughest atmosphere and 'other' factors KU has seen and will see all year. The crowd today was a record for non Final Four games at 58,000. All but 2,000 of those were cheering for Davidson and the upset. KU had everything to lose and nothing to gain by beating them, they were supposed to win. Davidson had nothing to lose and played like it on the defensive end.

They made it to the Elite 8 and were one basket from the final four. Your standards are pretty tough if you don't consider that a really good team. Too one dimensional? Good grief, they lost by two to a number one seed(after beating the No. 2 and 3 seeds), on a day when their best shooter shot only 33% from the field. You, like many others, simply won't acknowledge that there are very good teams outside the major conferences.
