Billy Packer

Lets start listing some of his great quotes from today.

So far..

"Taggart the Iowa State grad"

and

"North Carolina has numbers" as 2 NC players go against 3 KU players down court.

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.

"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."

Re: Billy Packer

All right. If we're asking real questions, how did this guy become the #1 analyst for CBS? I really don't know.

Seems like they have a slew of guys with more insight, more enthusiasm, and a better ability to hold an audience's attention.

Gus is without a doubt the best CBS announcer. He has a good voice, and knows what he's talking about. At least we don't have Verne Lundquist.

As long as it isn't Bill Walton or John Madden I'm happy!

Verne's a good general announcer. He doesn't specialize in any one sport, and it can show, but he's solid. Better than Billy, by my thoughts.

Re: Billy Packer

"The way UNC will catch up is by pushing the ball up the court." This is kind of how Kansas put them down.

Followed right away by, "UNC still not showing defensive intensity."

I guess I'm thinking that playing some defense might be the place to start the comeback. But, I print checks instead of working for a network. What do I know?

Re: Billy Packer

Someone said this week UNC's strong point it offense but they play D when they need to. For most of the 1st half their offense sure didnt look good and they didnt play D, but they needed to.
