They predict Rose as the #1 pick over Beasley. Rose did have a great tournament (minus tonight) but I still don't think that it would be enough for the first pick.
I guess a DWade and DRose backcourt in Miami would be pretty sweet though.

This year, it might not be as black and white.
It's a very tough call, IMO. Last year, I said that i would have taken Durant. |

But let's not automatically assume the Heat get the pick. The Celtics and Grizzlies were pretty disappointed last year. |

I hope not, but after the injury Wade suffered last year and tried to play through some injuries this year, I really worry that his best years are behind him. That's a shame because the performance he put on against the Mavs in '06 was a thing of beauty like the performance Kobe put on the Spurs in '01 or Jordan on the Suns. Like a one man wrecking crew. Wade couldn't be stopped. |

He didn't have a good game last night? He had 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. I'd love some bad nights like that out of our players next year. |

But he was non existant in the 1st half, and in OT when they needed him.

And obviously it is not just his scoring, but usually he is so effective because he will drive the lane and pass it out or get to the hoop. He was passing off the ball at the top of the key and not really doing too much.

They forced him to find somebody else. What he was doing was taking the 2 defenders on which should have left a teammate open but Kansas recovered well. No, he didn't have a good game last night. No inside presence.

Point guard is probably the toughest position for a rookie to learn and make an immediate impact. Just look at Mike Conley from last season. Rose is probably better than him but Conley had his struggles, even Deron Williams did in his rookie year. |

KU had the game in full control until Self made the bonehead decision to switch to the box and one. Memphis started knocking down open 3's and went on a run to take the lead. KU went back to their normal D and was able to claw their way back to OT with the help of the missed FT's. |

Dorsey fouling out hurt him in OT. No inside presence. Kansas didn't double him, the had the big guys cut him of on picks. Rose would have gone 10 points max on the night if Kansas hadn't stupidly switched to the zone (box and 1). As soon as they did that Rose went off and got is confidence back. Bill self didn't deserve this title. |
