Ralphie Gone Bad

If you have ever been to a game at CU you probably have witness similar antics. Always funny IMO.

I do hope the guy that got ran over is ok - but that was rather amusing.

I'm surprised PETA or a similar group hasn't complained about that:eek:

Ill complain about it. The Buffalo doesnt deserve that and when it tramples someone, you have to expect it. Common sense says that using a live animal in a crowded arena isnt smart.

Theres a clip somewhere of Bevo (UT's longhorn) taking a pee on one of the big red N's in Memorial Stadium that makes me smile every time I see it.

IMO: we shouldn't let ANY live animal run on our field. I am not taking this from a PETA stance.. .but as a pride thing. And sprinkle a little safety.

Yes. Baylor has a real bear. They brought one to Ames in '88 (more like a cub that could fit in a large dog travel cage) when it was 90+ degrees. Coupled with the artificial turf, and they let the animal sit in as much shade as they could find.

In 2000, the bear got a little frisky and tripped a couple of BU band members who were entering the stadium. High comedy. Handler went one way, bear went the other, the tether got pulled tight, and two trombone players who weren't paying attention absolutely face planted.

I am more impressed with how fast the last kid to hang on was running. He looked like he was 2 or 3 more strides from eating it. More hanging on than running.

Then I guess you didn't want Alvin Bowen on the field? I guess he was more of a monster than an animal.:wink:

Buffalo are built in such away as to be pure power. They are dangerous by design. Keeping a live one as a mascot is asking for trouble, safety-wise.
