I also have to add- FAC at Mickey's. 50 cent draws (after the free drink ticket you got upon entering) free hot dogs, peanuts, and popcorn. Plus a patio when the weather was nice. A place with free food was always the place to start on Fridays, it would usually hold me over until "gyro-time" at 2 am. Although if I ended up at Welch it was hard not to supplement that with some wings.
Man I miss FAC. I'll hopefully get some people from work to join me at Clive After Five on Fridays this summer, but it definitely won't be the same.

Intramurals,
Sticking bowls of cheesy potatoes to the bottom of the table,
The Gyro guy
Not necessarily in that order.

Not necessarily in that order. I miss Gyros so much. I had a friend's roommate who worked there, and he would see me in line and start mine without me even saying anything. "no veggies, add tabasco". That's right, nothing but meat, cheese, and hot sauce. That's fuel for the 5-block walk back to Wilmoth Ave. If I walked 6 blocks instead I would end up at the gas station by Wendy's, where the guy would usually give me free donuts.

Twin chili dogs from Quick Trip after a night on Welch.
I used to also enjoy being on campus over winter break. There were only a few of us around and we would have some of the best times out in Ames when most were home for break.

I agree with that completely...both the chili dogs and campus over break. I always enjoyed the summers in Ames, just a little more laid-back. The most fun week I ever had in the dorms was Thanksgiving break my 2nd year, only about 5 of us were there from our floor! No classes or worries, just a lot of Goldeneye and Mario Kart on N64.

Where on Wilmoth did you live? I've been here for two years now. Love the neighborhood minus the craptacular parking when there's a party.

Back when I lived in Helser, we would park on Wilmoth occaisionally, as it seemed to be the closest street to campus that did not have the 'alternate-side' parking that changed each day.
The place on Wilmoth was good though, reasonable walking distance to campus/bars, laundromat across the street at Colorado Junction, Wendy's, and a gas station near by. It was also pretty close to Larry Eustachy's house, not that I ever went there to party.

We have alternate side parking though.

The first hot day in the spring and all the women would break out the skirts and tank tops. Dehydration from drooling all day long.

Definitely miss the gyro guy.
Miss playing broomball at 3:00 in the morning (although the closest I ever came to a t-shirt was the semi-finals)
Miss playing Diablo II with buddies online for all hours of the night (still play, but don't nearly have enough time and it's not the same)
Miss Egg McClones and Herman Muenster sammies.
Also miss all my friends that I made way back when.

Sitting on the roof of our house on Saturday and Sunday mornings and watching the girls take the "Walk of Shame". That was alway entertaining.
