The Saucy Southern from Hickory Park may be the best bang for your buck meal in town.

Ruttles, Da Vinci's and both Chick filet and the coffee shop at the Union. Otherwise, most of my meals during college came out of a vending machine in whatever building my friends and I were studying in before our afternoon classes.

For those of you out of school, when/if you make it back I strongly urge you to check out Jeff's Pizza. It's on the corner of Stanton and Lincoln Way and is easily the best pizza place in Ames. Hell it's one of the best I've ever been to.

Please do not ruin the Saucy Southern for me. I'm sure most of the fast food I eat the people who work there wouldn't eat. I prefer not to think about that.

I love that place. There's one here in Dallas as well, but I went to the original in CS a couple years ago during the ISU butt kicking down there. Chipotle seems so worthless now.

Es Tas tacos, best tacos I've ever had.
O'Malley & McGee's, best fajitas in town.
I'm not sure what the big deal is with Great Plains. I ate there twice and both times the crust was dry and hard. Maybe I just got 2 bad pizzas.

The original one is actually in Santa Barbara, CA, where the owner is originally from (although I'm not sure it is still open). He comes and gives a presentation each year for my chair's MBA Services Marketing class, which I sat in on. Very nice guy. Students love him. Of course, he does give out free burrito coupons when he's done with his presentation. | |
