The truck stop on 30 was always a favorite on Sunday mornings.

I'm not sure what the big deal is with Great Plains. I ate there twice and both times the crust was dry and hard. Maybe I just got 2 bad pizzas.

Blasphemy

Does anybody remember the name of this place? Was it Paesanos or something like that?

It just came to me. The Pizza House, where they tossed the pizza dough in the window facing Lincoln Way. Maybe we aren't talking about the same place.

Are you related to CR's CyAg?

I don't think that was what I was thinking about.

Sorry ... not affiliated with CR's CyAg.

Me and my family make a point to always stop by Great Plains Sauce & Dough when we go to ISU games. We order enough to bring some slices home with us.

Okoboji Grill moved into their old location (actually, Indigo Joe's fizzled out there in-between). It's really good - I actually like the food better now that it's in the new location?

Cafe Northwest recently stopped serving lunch, so I don't make it there nearly as often as I'd like. Their Greek spaghetti is awesome. Spanokopita (sp?) is really good, too.

You should try the Branding Iron if you're ever in Nevada. Same idea, but doesn't have 20 years of smoke built up yet!

Are you sure you aren't talking about DaVinci's? I used to work there and we had windows where people could watch us toss out the pizza dough.

He might be ... the place I'm thinking was on Lincoln Way, just down from People's.

Another really great restaurant outside of Ames is The Cottage, in Story City. Great steaks, but all around great menu. I love that place.
