The NCAA Sucks!

The NCAA has said that they will begin investigating the OJ Mayo situation but I guarantee nothing will come of it just like nothing has come of the Reggie Bush situation. If memory serves me correctly, the player on Lucca Staiger's team in Germany took something like $2,000, yet they threw the book at Lucca (who obviously didn't take anything) and took away a year of eligibility. Also, the NCAA will not impose any other penalties on Indiana for what Sampson did. That makes sense because the President of the NCAA is Myles Brand, the former AD at Indiana. I question whether or not the NCAA holds high profile teams/players at Indiana, USC, etc. accountable for their actions the same way they do at Iowa State.

I think it's pretty apparent that the NCAA is walking hypocrisy. I would be shocked if anything serious, if at all, comes from the Mayo investigation. The NCAA does not hesitate to flex their muscle and impose their will on the little guy to prove a point, but USC and Indiana are above reproach.

The NCAA didn't punish ISU, they punished Lucca. The NCAA can't punish OJ Mayo and, if USC didn't know what was going on (IF true), shouldn't punish them. I'm highly skeptical of the claims, seeing it is a disgruntled former friend making them.

By punishing Lucca, they did in fact punish ISU.

Yes by suspending Lucca they did punish ISU, however they didn't take away scholarships or ban from post season which are the traditional ways you punish a school

Also, didn't the guy from Texas end up getting a suspension for next year. I know it isn't for the entire season like Lucca, but I thought he would be out for a majority of the non-conference season for them. I know there was this mentioned on a Texas board along with people wanting the suspension served while he was hurt this year.

Why go after the hard messy cases that make the NCAA look bad when you can pick off the "little" schools that do it the right way.

There are so many things wrong with the SC/Bush with a side of Mayo fiasco it is mind-boggling...and at the end of the day, nothing will happen to them.

Actually, I appreciate them doing those things.
It keeps them from spending even more of our money on worthless things...

They should do what they did to Lucca and suspend Mayo's teammates as they were playing with a paid player.
