CFB Preseason #1
Who is the preseason pick for #1?
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk,superdorf, clones_jer. That is all. -

Re: CFB Preseason #1
I'd say Georgia as well. It will prolly take USC a couple weeks until they blow out Ohio State to gain the number 1 spot.

Re: CFB Preseason #1
I think Georgia has the best team. But if you picked your Top 10 on where you think they will end up, I dont know that i would pick them #1. They have a brutal schedule.
As much as I DONT want to say it, Ohio State could end up being back in the national title game again.

USC is going to be stacked and they looked pretty good in teh Rose Bowl. GA is going to be very solid, but they will be 1B.

The offense won't be bad...remains to be seen what Sanchez can do, but they are always loaded at RB

Re: CFB Preseason #1
I just dont get all the hype about Georgia. What am I missing about them? It seems like they've always disappointed most. A lot of people had them in the NC game last year with all the chaos happening each week.

I doubt they play for the national title when its all said and done.

It should be Ohio State. None of us have to like it, but we're talking about a team that has the best record of any BCS team over the last two years, has been to two straight national championship games, and has more returning starters than any other BCS conference team. To me, they're number one until someone else like USC proves otherwise.

This issue has been beat into the ground before, but I am an advocate for no rankings until week 4 or 5. That of course wouldn't sell many papers.

This is like the greatest poll ever or something, lol.

;) Well, guess it is official, might as well just hand Iowa the trophy. Playing the games would just be a lose lose situation for the future national champs!
